Analyzing the Characteristics of Faults in a Transmission Line and High Voltage Capacitor Banks in a 115-kV-Power System Using Discrete Wavelet Transform

چکیده
The protection of conventional high voltage capacitor banks relies on an unbalance relay. However, investigating the faults requires time and human resources. To address this issue, characteristics system parameters were analysed in study by performing simulations using power systems computer-aided design software. modelled based a 115-kV-system Electricity Generating Authority Thailand. case studies involved transmission line, single bank, back-to-back connected bank. Additionally, influence other factors was investigated, including varying fault phase, location, inception angles. Moreover, discrete wavelet transform (DWT) applied to analyse comprehensively. results indicate that occurring line are unique when compared those Furthermore, discrepancy between bank two topology solved applying DWT. Therefore, findings can aid improving efficiency ensure their protection.
